Mid-17th century Northern European school, after Jacques Bla - Lot 211
Mid-17th century Northern European school, after Jacques Blanchard (1600-1638) Joseph and Putiphar's wife Oil on panel Size: 30.5x40.5 cm (panel) Some missing paint layer, insect holes on reverse of panel In a rich modern gilded frame (54x64 cm) Our painting reproduces Jacques Blanchard's painting in its inverted composition, as on the known engraving by Cornelius Bloemaert (160-1633), which undoubtedly enabled our northern painter (Flanders, Holland or Germany) to distribute the model.
