Large in-4 in a very fine FRANZ binding in navy blue grained leather, the first cover decorated with a disrobed female figure between a Pierrot and a Harlequin. The spine is embellished with the title in gold lettering. With protective leather jacket in the same color as the binding and the same spine (rubbed). 100 pp and 20 beautiful plates by Georges BARBIER. This copy is numbered 494 out of eight hundred on Rives vellum. Stamped cover preserved inside the book. Very fine condition, in a sublime binding paying tribute to Barbier's illustrations. One of the finest publishing achievements of its time, and certainly the most beautiful work illustrated by the artist.
