THIRIET (Jean-Baptiste) - Lot 20
THIRIET (Jean-Baptiste) Mes souvenirs ou les prisonniers français en Pologne. Paris, Delaunay Libraire, 1822. In-8 (4)-VI-392 pp, frontispiece, paperback in contemporary blue covers. First edition illustrated with a lithographed frontispiece by Engelmann after Horace Vernet. A very rare memoir by a prisoner of war which, lacking historical accuracy, offers the originality of a versified testimony complemented by rigorous prose notes. [Tulard, 1413] Fairly good condition, spine damaged, scattered foxing, pages browned.
